The Phillip Bianco Memorial Music Scholarship

New Scholarship to be offered through Keynotes

Amount: $1100 to be awarded annually

From the Bianco Family:

As a way to honor our father, Phillip Anthony Bianco (April 24, 1940 – June 8, 2018) we have started a memorial music scholarship in his name.

The Phillip Bianco Memorial Music Scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis & administered through the Keynotes Foundation to an exceptional student of music from the Western Pennsylvania area.

The money is to be used for instrumental studies, music education classes, books, new instruments, equipment & other music education related interests.

Phillip Bianco was passionate about music & education. He was a beloved teacher of Shakespeare & English Literature for nearly 40 years at Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, PA & also started the Jazz Ensemble (then called the Stage Band) in the early 1970’s.

Our dad was also a professional saxophonist & clarinetist. From the early age of 13, he toured & performed professionally in the Mid Atlantic & Midwestern United States with orchestras, symphonies & dance bands. In addition, he taught private students saxophone & clarinet.

When he retired from the high school he went on to teach college students at branch campuses for Penn State & The Community College of Allegheny County.

We are tremendously grateful for the outpouring of support from past students, friends, teachers, musicians & faculty members.

Thank you,
The Bianco Family
